Hi, we’re Amy & Marcy, here’s our story

We love connecting with people. Learning new things. Witnessing what others are doing. Being in different styles of nature - the landscape, geology. But most importantly, what we’ve learned, is that it’s always about the people.

Along the way you can find us:

  • Checking out coffee shops - meeting incredible folks.

  • Being spontaneous. Going with the flow.

  • Enjoying solitude. Hearing the natural sounds of the world.

  • Getting inspired by others & sharing our own story!

How we got our van & started traveling

Greetings,

My name is Amy Lang and I am a semi-retired labor and delivery and hospice nurse. After 25 years of bedside nursing I became burned out and knew something had to change. I met my wife Marcy and we began to talk about our lives together. We knew we wanted to travel and explore new places. However work was putting a damper on our fun time. Marcy was ready to retire but I was not ready to let go of nursing altogether. I knew I had more to give. So I began to look for a job that would allow me to have the lifestyle of travel and freedom and found nurse coaching. This time around, I wanted to be my own boss. I became certified and dove into starting my private coaching practice. Now I work whenever and wherever I desire.

A change in mindset:

We began to look at what was behind the desire to retire. Marcy’s entire career was in radiation oncology and I was a hospice nurse. We have seen and talked to many people at the end of their lives- some young, some old.  When I would ask them what was most important and memorable in their lives, the majority of them would say family, friends and travel. Work was not of primary importance, in fact many wished they didn’t spend so much time focused on work. We also saw many people who received a terminal diagnosis just after they retired and were unable to enjoy what they had been working for their entire life. This informed our decision to retire and travel.

Our mantra became: You can always make more money but you can’t make more time.

Purpose:

So we pulled the plug. We followed our dream and began our travels across the United States in our new van, Juliet.  The purpose of the trip became to have adventures, see new places and connect with family and friends while also making new friends. The pandemic caused so much disconnection that we wanted to turn that around and reconnect.  Our plan was to stay with family and friends as much as possible. What unfolded was as people learned that we were traveling their way, they opened their home/driveway for us to stay.  The connections were so memorable and beautiful.  So that brings me to why I am writing… to share our experiences and to inspire others to create the life of their dreams- full of purpose, joy and freedom.

Get out there and live life now because you never know what tomorrow may bring!

#Adventure on!

Ready to live out your own dreams?

I’m Amy, let me introduce myself & share with you why I coach…

Let me start with a little bit about me: I have been a nurse for 25 years with experience in labor and delivery, medical/surgical nursing, oncology, and hospice.  Over the years I became aware that there is more to healing than our current medical model provides.  Disillusion turned to feeling out of alignment with my beliefs and my work.  This led to burnout and my desire to learn more.

I decided to take a break and do what feeds me- travel.  I then became an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist using holistic tools to bring the body, mind, and spirit into balance.  The small steps and brave leaps led me to where I am today- a transformative life coach.

I was drawn to coaching because I wanted to help people get to the root cause of their dis-ease (emotional, physical, and spiritual.) I also realized through my own burnout that we have to create the life we want instead of waiting for things to change. I am creating a life of travel and freedom on the road in my van.

As a coach, I can share my knowledge, experience, and intuition regarding the various paths to living your best life.

OUR BLOG

Vanlife is more than travel and exploring new places. It becomes a deeper vehicle to travel within to find meaning in this One Life we have. Our ability to connect and be real with people is special and authentic. We take time to be present, curious and to listen. Our trusting nature allows a safe space to open up to both of us.  It doesn’t matter the language or the country, there is an ease wherever we go.
